‘All academic arrangement will be in place within next 15 days’

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 03 (KNO) : Director School Education Kashmir (DESK) Dr. G.N. Itoo today chaired a meeting of Principals and Headmasters of various educational institutions of district Baramulla at Dak Bangalow to review academic arrangements for the coming academic session and to take an assessment of previous academic session. The Director expressed appreciation for overwhelming performance by the students of the district in the recently declared class 12th results in which Girls HSS Baramulla bagged the first position in Arts stream. He further said that teachers are architects of the nation and it becomes our ethical and moral responsibility to provide them quality education. The meeting was informed that the Department has prepared an Educational Calendar in consultation with all stakeholders for ensuring uniformity of standards in all educational institutions of the valley. He said it will ensure that the collective efforts yield better results. The Director said that the department will ensure that any loss of academic hours due to any reason shall be compensated by transforming holidays into working days and for that the department requires dedication and cooperation of teachers. He informed that the co-curricular activities have been given priority in the Calendar for nurturing talent and for containing any unhealthy practices among students. The Director said that efforts are on to fill all teaching staff vacancies including principals and headmasters before the coming academic session. All academic arrangements will be in place within next 15 days. He directed the principals and headmaster to conduct regular meetings with staff to review performance and suggest measures for better results. He said there is a need for pooling of ideas and that is possible only when communication gap is bridged, adding it will make teachers accountable for every hour of their academic work and enhance results. Later, the Director inaugurated CMs supper 50 coaching centre, at Government Degree College Baramulla. JD planning, AG Malik CEO Baramulla besides other officers were present on the occasion.(KNO)
